Protect Yourself This Summer And Avoid The Dreaded C Word
With the school summer holidays now in full flow, many of you will be heading for sunnier climates with your families. There is a good chance that you will be going somewhere with a much warmer temperature than you would normally experience in the UK and therefore it makes sense that you should adequately protect yourself from overexposure in the sun. But, many people do not take the necessary precautions required and leave themselves open to the risk of getting sun burn which may lead to the development of skin cancer later in life.
So, if you are planning on heading down to the beach when abroad and sunning yourself, it is vitally important that you do so using common sense. The sun is at its most strongest between the hours of 11am and 3pm, so try and stay in the shade during this time to avoid any burning of the skin. Even before or during this time you should always think about wearing a hat, t-shirt and glasses to cover up those areas most likely to be effected by extreme heat.
Always use a high factor (factor 15 and above) sun lotion and apply it thoroughly all over your body, particularly on young children. If you decide to go for a swim you still need to be protected and once you come out of the water you should reapply more lotion where needed.
The sun can also affect the body in other ways and can contribute towards skin sagging or becoming wrinkly. Such a look may prevent or dissuade you from wanting to take a further beach holiday in the future. However, cosmetic surgery in the North West has in recent times helped many people to regain a look which they can be happy about. A tummy tuck in the North West and liposuction in the North West are particularly popular procedures for this purpose.
